It is also where the plant's most valuable therapeutic & nutritional properties are highly concentrated. The essence or essential oil protects the plant from disease, parasites, & other would-be predators, while attracting certain insects for reproductive pollination. The vital essences of plants are converted into pure essential oils & aromatic hydrosols (floral waters) by the mechanical process of various extraction methods. Only after extraction does an essence become an essential oil. Essential oils are not only used for medicinal and spiritual purposes, but for everyday uses such as in your home cleaning products, natural cosmetic and body care, scenting your surroundings, and for pure pleasure.
